Some things about Mary...
Mary Ann Cabanting is a trying-hard-to-be-worthy and infinitesimal being playing earnestly in the vastness of the universe. Unconventionally carefree and cautious...indefinitely eccentric and serious...variably emotional and rational...and... Alright, so much for that kind of statements...back to earth now.
By profession, she's a teacher. But, with the different facets of her personality she's hoping not to be recommended to a psychiatric clinic diagnosed with a personality disorder (laughing out loud). And to name a few facets of her...hmm...well, she's into photography and has graduated basic and advanced photography courses at FPPF, Manila, Philippines (http://www.photoworldmanila.com/). Her love of nature ever since she's a child roaming the fields of Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur and the mountainous province of Abra, northern part of the island of Luzon in the Philippines, propels her to climb and hike mountains on occasional basis and mostly with friends at http://www.vagabondpinas.com/. A life in the outdoors (that includes shopping), vacations, gardening, campings, endless laughing during photo-shoots with photography buddies, coffee talks with friends and being with the people (pets included) she cares about are her most awesome experiences ever. She also loves to read and write poems, read books and try her best to just borrow in the library rather than buy her own copy. You see, buying books is one of her obsessive-compulsive disorder aside from having a poor hand-eye coordination. In 2006, after watching "Inconvenient Truth" by Al Gore, she signed-up as Greenpeace Philippines Supporter (http://www.greenpeace.org/seasia/ph/). She decided to become a vegetarian in June of 2007 and about more than a year now, container gardening is one that keeps her busy early in the morning (as if her days are not usually busy, she hardly had time to sleep!). The use of organic and natural products are two things she's pursuing (thanks to her allergies). Being an Outfit Adviser in Scouting led her to many discoveries about herself as a leader and as an advocate of a life in the outdoors and taking care of the environment. And in November 2011, she was granted Adult Leader Training Recognition as Wood Badge Holder under the belt of Scouts of the Philippines. Badminton and running are two sports activities she's trying to believe she's fit in. Well, hiking and mountain climbing are a different matter. It's more of a spiritual thing for her. She's desperately trying to finish her master's degree in educational technology. And on June 23, 2012, she published shutternotescreative.com.
